Edit: In case anyone with the same question stumbles upon this old post, all my problems were solved with this video:I just want the video files, don't need audio or anything else.I know very little about this stuff.I tried converting mkv to mp4 with handbrake and converterlite, but with both the video quality was lowered quite a lot.Then I read that MKVExtractGUI might be good, so I used that and I get a file that ends in.h264 that can't be used with vegas pro or any video players I have. I have no idea where to go from here. Yup yup yup.When I convert to avi there is no video.
There is an odd loading bar looking rectangle in the bottom left corner that says 'Network is too busy to play file at original quality' when scrolled over.When I convert to mp4 there is no video unless I skip to a later part of the video, then the video works smoothly.unless I try to play it from the beginning again. And the audio is always off by like 5 seconds.Different videos seem to work differently though.I found one that works perfectly in mp4, and actually was able to be imported to sony vegas pro. But when I put the video on the track for editing, it is only audio; and when I play this audio it's just some high pitched screech.Lolwtf.
